Course Description
|
Advanced algebra topics are studied in Algebra II with emphasis on polynomials,
quadratics, and functions. Topics include properties of real numbers, linear
open sentences, functions, polynomials, rational expressions, irrational numbers
and radicals, quadratic equations and functions, quadratic relations and
systems, exponential functions and logarithms. Completion of this course will
prepare students for further study in Pre Calculus. Strong mastery of Algebra II
is required for most college placement tests.
Algebra II (Honors) continues the sequence from Geometry (Honors)
through Calculus. Statistics and Probability and Algebra III may be taken after
Algebra II.
Prerequisite:
Geometry
Honors requires a grade of "B" or better in
Geometry (Honors).
