Course Description
|
Students enrolled in this course will explore a variety of ways to combine all
the elements of theatre to create an effective performance or production. There
will be an emphasis on reading, analyzing, and performing material from a
variety of theatrical eras and playwright. Students will develop an
understanding of the role of the director and other theatre personnel in
developing clearly defined interpretations and points of view which are then
implemented in effective performances and/or productions. They will create and
refine the subtleties of character, motivation, and behavior, making continually
more effective use of speech, voice, and movement in performance(s); they will
continue to practice the principles of effective use of voice and speech. There
will be emphasis on continuing to explore the elements of technical theatre.
Students will also continue to develop effective methods of responding
thoughtfully to theatrical performances and productions.
Students enrolled in Advanced Theatrical Production must be able to fund
approximately $25-35 for a studio fee, as well as other supplies required by the
teacher.
Prerequisite:
Successful completion of Advanced Acting (Drama III) or
Technical Theatre (Stagecraft) with a grade of C or higher
and prior permission of the instructor.
