Programming and Computer Concepts (341010)

Course Description

This is a one-credit course based on the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) model high school computing course. The course surveys computer science topics including: numerical and symbolic representation, operating systems, programming languages, computer architecture, ethical and professional issues, artificial intelligence, design of solutions to abstract problems and introductory programming in Java.

This course is a prerequisite for the Advanced Placement Computer Science course.

Co-requisite:
Students should be enrolled in Geometry or a higher mathematics course.
