|
Course Description
|
Students are introduced to the systematic and scientific study of human and
other animal behavior and mental processes. Students are exposed to the
psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with each of the major
subfields within psychology. They also learn about the methods psychologists use
in their science and practice. The course aims to provide students with a
learning experience equivalent to that obtained in a typical, one-semester
introductory college psychology course. Students will be strongly encouraged to
take the AP Psychology examination at the conclusion of the course.
Family Life and Human Development Bylaw (Focus Areas II and III) requires
parental permission for enrollment in this course in which some topics deal with
adolescence and personality.
