Advanced Placement European History (164111)

Course Description

Students explore European history from 1450 through 1970 (within the framework recommended for the AP exam by Educational Testing Service). The course focus is the changing relationship of the individual to Europe's religious, economic, and political institutions. The themes to be explored include: The Rise of Individualism, Political and Social Revolutions, and the Effects of Industrialization. Students will develop the ability to analyze primary historical evidence and to express that understanding and advanced analytical thinking in oral and written formats. Both secondary and primary sources will be explored in the course.

Modern World History
Grades 11 - 12
